If you've spent time in an online neuropathy forum, you've probably run into someone swearing by turmeric — the golden spice most of us know from curry, now sold in capsule form and marketed as a natural answer to nerve pain, tingling, and inflammation. It's a fair question to ask: if turmeric is that powerful, why isn't it standard practice for peripheral neuropathy? The honest answer sits between the extremes you'll find online. Turmeric's active compound has real anti-inflammatory properties backed by a legitimate body of research, and some of that research does touch on nerve health — but the human evidence specific to neuropathy is still early, and turmeric alone is not a treatment for nerve damage. Here's what the research actually shows, why absorption is the part most turmeric marketing leaves out, and where it realistically fits if you decide to try it.
What's Actually in Turmeric?
