Neuropathy Treatments

The Roots Neuropathy Program

A structured, drug-free, surgery-free program for peripheral neuropathy — built by Dr. Logan Swaim, MS, DC, author of The Truth About Reversing Neuropathy Now. It starts with objective testing, targets the reasons your nerves are struggling, and measures progress in numbers you can see.

The four factors the program targets

Nerves rarely fail for no reason. In case after case, the same four factors show up behind the numbness, tingling, burning, and balance problems — and they're the factors our program is built to address:

  • Circulation — nerves starve without steady blood flow; we work to support the supply lines
  • Compression — structural pressure on nerves changes how they fire; where structure contributes, care addresses it
  • Inflammation — a chronically inflamed environment keeps nerves irritated and slows recovery
  • Stimulation — nerves that stop receiving input decondition; the right stimulation encourages function

Which factors matter most in YOUR case is exactly what the evaluation determines. That's why no two care plans at The Roots look the same.

How the program works, step by step

Everything begins with the neuropathy evaluation — consultation, circulation assessment, 16-point sensory exam, balance test, and any necessary X-rays. Those results tell us how much nerve function remains and which of the four factors are in play.

From there, the doctor builds your personalized plan. Depending on your findings it may combine red light therapy, gentle chiropractic care, balance and stimulation work, and guidance for what you do at home between visits. Each person and case is different, so we take a personalized approach based on what your nervous system is showing us.

Progress re-exams repeat the same objective measurements from your baseline, so you watch your numbers move — or we have an honest conversation about adjusting course. Measured progress, not vague reassurance, is the deal.

Who the program is for — and who it isn't

The program is built for people with peripheral neuropathy — often from diabetes, chemotherapy, surgery, or unknown causes — who have been told nothing more can be done and want a structured, drug-free path to explore. It pairs well with conventional care; many of our patients continue seeing their neurologist or primary doctor throughout, and we coordinate gladly.

It is not for everyone, and we say so. If your evaluation shows the kind of nerve damage or underlying condition that needs a different specialist, you'll hear that from us directly, with a recommendation for where to go. An honest no is part of the program too.

Led by the doctor who wrote the book on it

Dr. Logan Swaim built the program around a conviction that the body has a far greater capacity to heal than most patients are ever told — and wrote The Truth About Reversing Neuropathy Now to explain the approach. He leads every evaluation and designs every care plan personally.

If you want to understand the thinking before you ever set foot in the clinic, the book and our free monthly community seminars in Lakewood Ranch are exactly for that.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Nothing in our program involves prescription medication — it works on circulation, compression, inflammation, and stimulation through physical, light-based, and rehabilitative methods. Many patients remain on medications prescribed by their physicians while going through the program; we never ask you to change a prescription — that conversation belongs with your prescribing doctor.
It depends entirely on what your evaluation shows — how much nerve function remains and which factors are involved. Each person and case is different, so we take a personalized approach rather than quoting a one-size-fits-all timeline. What we commit to: objective re-exams so your progress is measured, not guessed.
The complete new-patient evaluation is $49. After the doctor reviews your results with you, you'll know exactly what care is recommended and what it involves before making any decision. A complimentary benefits check at your first visit clarifies where your insurance stands.
Long-standing neuropathy is common in our clinic — many patients arrive years after diagnosis. What matters most is how much nerve function remains, which is what the evaluation measures. The honest answer about what's possible in your case comes from your numbers, not from how long you've had symptoms.
Yes, gladly. Bring prior test results to your evaluation, and with your permission we share our findings with your neurologist, podiatrist, or primary doctor. Good neuropathy care is a team effort.
